Format the Bid Package
The main purpose of the bid package is to communicate the same thing to all contractor(s). The easiest way to send contractors the bid package is by email.
Put all the documents in the same ‘package’, so every contractor gets all the same information and no one can tell you they are missing something.
After interviewing contractors and making sure they are interested, email them the bid package. If they are a General Contractor, they’ll send the docs to their subcontractors and get their bids.
Using the PDF format reduces the file size to well within the typical maximum attachment size. Assemble all the documents in the same PDF file. The easiest way to do this is either to scan the printed documents to a PDF file or to print the completed documents to the same PDF file.
