Daily Logs
Daily logs help you document progress and track the number of hours the contractors are actually working.
If you have the ability to be on-site each day, from start to finish, you’re in a great position to track the project progress.
Daily logs are particularly useful in situations where there are allowances included in the contract, as discussed in Bidding – Reviewing and Analyzing Bids, when contracting hourly work, and when documenting why and how a project is running late.
Daily logs can also help you verify that the contractor’s invoice is accurate.
Use the provided Daily Construction Log or set up a spreadsheet to track daily numbers of men; types of trades; activities performed; and any progress issues, problems, and injuries.
